What Are Common Air Conditioning Problems?

Pardee Service Experts is here with a couple of the most usual A/C problems in Charleston.

  • No Cool Air

If you can hear your air conditioning system working but there isn’t cool air being produced, you might need to have your refrigerant levels checked. Refrigerant is what helps make sure the air blowing from your system is actually cool. Call Pardee Service Experts and we’ll come out and review your refrigerant levels and look into why your system is not blowing cool air.

  • Fan Won’t Rotate

One reason your condenser fan might not be rotating could be that it simply burned out and you need to replace the fan. Humidity could cause more condensation so another issue to watch for is that the water is not draining properly or that the drain is restricted. If you can confirm these things, you may be able to discover the issue; if not, give Pardee Service Experts a call and we can find out what has stopped your condenser fan from rotating and go over your options to get your system cooling again.

  • Not Cooling Properly

First, try lowering your thermostat. It seems simple but sometimes we neglect the obvious. If that doesn’t get your A/C cooling, take a look at the air filter. If the air filter is dirty, it could cause major cooling problems. Another issue that could cause your insufficient cooling is that your AC equipment is not sized properly, and unfortunately this is a common issue when homes are constructed. Pardee Service Experts will come out and do an analysis to determine if the size of your equipment is causing your issues.

  • System is Short Cycling

If your air conditioner is short cycling, or turning on or off repeatedly, it could mean one of multiple things. One is that your condenser or evaporator is dirty and in need of cleaning. Once the unit is cleaned and all blockages removed, you may be good to go. Note that humidity also plays a role so if your home cools to the right temperature, but then the humidity causes your home to heat up quickly, it could result in on-again, off-again air conditioning because it’s having to work harder to keep your home cool.

No matter your problem, whatever AC trouble you run into, Pardee Service Experts is here for you all day, every day so we can get your family comfortable quickly.
