When you are looking for heating, air conditioning or plumbing services from Pardee Service Experts, you will pay for the trip charge and a diagnostic fee separately. Many companies you’ve called in the past most likely combined the trip charge and diagnostic fee, but we believe we can offer better value by separating them.
What Is a Trip Charge?
A trip charge covers the cost for a licensed plumber or HVAC technician to come to your home. Occasionally called a service call fee, this cost is the initial rate for bringing our technicians, equipment and expertise to your doorstep. If you want to cut out the trip charges in the future, you can explore joining one of our membership programs.
What Is a Diagnostic Fee?
The diagnostic fee pays for the services necessary to determine the root cause of a problem. In plumbing, this could consist of scoping. For HVAC repairs, it might involve examining the inside of the cabinet. If you elect to use Pardee Service Experts for your repairs, the diagnostic fee is rolled into the repair bill. That said, you will be charged for the diagnostic services alone if you don't.
What Is the Difference Between a Trip Fee and a Diagnostic Fee
In most cases, a trip fee covers sending the plumber or HVAC technician to your residence, while the diagnostic fee covers all the work concerned with evaluating the problem and figuring out a plan for repairs. If you are paying for repairs, you won't notice the diagnostic fee because it will be absorbed into the cost of the repairs.
Why Are Diagnostic Fees and Trip Charges Separated?
Other plumbers and HVAC companies will charge one single fee for both the trip and the diagnostics. Instead of charging you for two services at once, we opt for two individual fees. This allows us to price our services in the fairest possible manner.
