"Arrived 2 hours late. Technician Brad was accompanied by another individual who we assumed was an assistant or apprentice, later identified as Greg Healey. We were shocked when told our less than 6-year old Lennox system (installed and maintained by Pardee) needed a $1,500 replacement part. We were then taken aback when it then became clear that Greg was actually a salesman and had come along to attempt to sale us a brand new system. Strongly recommended getting a whole new system, even though ours was less than 6 years old. Focused on the "Advantage" plan which required a lot of questions on our part to finally discern it was a lease with monthly payments forever. Later emailed us proposals for systems with purchase prices of nearly 50% to 100% higher than the supposedly high quality Lennox system Pardee sold us less than six years ago. Brad and Greg were both very nice, but after they left we became more and more suspicious that Pardee sent a sales rep with the tech. Obvious goal of the visit was to sell us a new system -- why else would a sales rep come with the service tech? . We felt we could not trust the diagnosis or repair estimate. We obtained a second opinion and received a repair quote that was less than 2/3 of the Pardee repair quote, and affirmed no need to replace whole system. The second source performed the service, and we will be getting service from that organization from now on. Pardee has definitely gone way downhill since selling out to Service Experts, and we can no longer trust the integrity of their recommendations or service."

"Tech had us sign for the filter and then noticed the wall unit wasn't corresponding with the unit. After he replaced the filter don't you think he should have run a test of the unit? He found out he had tripped a switch on the unit while replacing the fan. Just poor follow-up on the job performed and not looking at the small details. He's not your best or maybe he was having a bad day - which again isn't my problem. He will never perform work for me again - there is no trust in him doing a good job after what I saw today."

One example is after removing the cover inside the house he could tell the power was fine just by looking at the wires rather than checking them with a meter as others have done in the past. He didn't pour anything down the drainpipe to clean it. Also, two days after he was here, the unit started freezing due to a damaged valve."

The work was done on May 22 and I paid for that service as well as the renewal of our maintenance agreement and added an additional unit. This was paid with a credit card in the amount of $471. Yesterday (5/29) I received an $84 invoice for this service. I called the Pardee office and explained that we had already paid for this service. The lady I spoke to said she would check into the account and let me know the result. I have not heard anything back and would like to get this resolved before we have a need for maintenance or repairs."

"Last I heard, Clarence and James were researching the type of HVAC system would be best and fill the requirement of being a quiet unit. I was interested in a Heil, rated #3 for being quiet. I also expressed by dissatisfaction with having to have a third air conditioner in 15 years. In March, I asked the service tech about the life expectancy and he though it would last another couple of years. Pardee has serviced both the HAVC systems every six months since they were put in. For the last two years, I have had the issue that after I have my 6 months service, I have to call for service two more times at one months intervals because the back up keeps shutting off. This time, Clarence told me the coil was rusted and need to be replaced and the system was leaking coolant. How in two months could the system go from OK to replacement? I was willing to entertain a quote from James and told him that Clarence was the only thing Pardee had going for them. I also told him I was getting three quotes, I wanted no messing around, and his best offer. If I had purchased another unit from Pardee, Clarence was going to be the only person working on it. I have not heard anything from either of them. Since I have no idea how fast the coolant will leak out, I felt I needed to act on this promptly. Therefore, I have gone with another company."

"This was a regular scheduled maintenance. James went into our attic and was there for 45 minutes while I stood next in a room next to where he did the service. It seemed an excess amount of time. I normally could hear sounds of work being done but I didnt hear anything at all except for screwing and unscrewing the panel to open up the unit. I did hear sounds of something on his cellphone. I dont know if he was watching a video or maybe playing music. Not sure. When I finally asked at the 45 minute mark whether he was doing ok, he said fine and put the panel back together. Then, he went outside to the compressor where I sat on my screened porch to actually watch him. He spent a total of 3 minutes (no exageration) on the outside unit. He wrote some stuff on paper but never checked any readings. Never took the panel off to check anything. It was a very disappointing experience and I did call to complain. Joe Stein, service manager whom I have dealt with before with very satisfactory experience, will be coming out next wednesday to re-service the unit."

"This company should be called Parody. I called them to simply refill R22 in my unit because i knew it was low. The technician came out for a 99$ service fee and within 5 minutes told me that it needed 3 lbs of R22. He did not perform any other diagnosis on the unit. Technician then began rambling on about R22 being discontinued and the price has skyrocketed to 400$ a pound. He also told me that the price they paid $800.00 for 25 lbs of R22 which equals to $32 per pound. He quoted me $1,200 for the 3 lbs of R22 which didn't include labor. Soo thats about a $1,104 mark up just on raw materials. I called another local AC company to get a price quote on R22 and they told me that it would be about 75$ per pound. I shared my frustrations with the technician and he stated "I tried to call the shop and get a better price but that's what they are selling it for. We've been in business for 90 years because we stand behind our work" Maybe you've been in business for 90 years because your price gauging all of your raw materials and labor?"

Even though I left detailed notes on what I needed done with the lady on the phone, 2 technicians and a comfort specialist showed up and then they had to call there supervisor and wait for a response on how much to charge. When I said I wasn't paying that ridiculous price, I was told I needed to pay a $99 diagnostic fee even though the technician only took a few pictures and that was it. What kind of buisness model is it where you either have to pay a ridiculous quote of over 5 times the price of a competitor or a $99 "diagnostic fee". If I would have known that I would have had to pay a fee just to get a quote I would have never even made an appointment with you in the first place. And if you already new the scope of the work to begin with, why not just give me anow estimate before hand and save everybody time."

"I was satisfied with the speed that a technician was able to arrive to address my issue. We did appreciate the office worker that took the call asking Corona Virus questions to ensure the safety of both parties. The problem was that the issue was not resolved fully. I feel that the technician did not complete a real in depth check into what was causing the condensation build up. The condensation dripping was slowed down but two days later i still have the same issue. For a $99 service fee I don't feel like my air system was diagnosed very well. Also i was charged $70 for a $10 or less air box moisture strip. That is a huge mark up for a very cheap item that is placed in the pan. I was also quoted close to $100 for the tech to hook a vacuum to the condensation line and clear it out. That is one more line item that is over priced. I am now out $170 and nothing was solved. Properly working air conditioning is important at this time because my wife is 7 months pregnant. This is also not the time to have wasted money when people are at risk of loosing employment due to a pandemic."

The dissatisfaction came when I was referred to someone who tried to sell me a new HVAC unit under an installment plan. I agreed to talk to him, and he was pleasant enough. However, he was trying to sell me a type of plan that I did not want, without explaining conventional purchasing options. At that point, the technician had estimated the cost of repairs but had not suggested that a new system might be more economical. I have bought new systems from Pardee and others, for multiple properties, but I have never been subjected to this type of salesmanship. In general I feel that Pardee technicians are great, but that the management of the company has suffered every since it was purchased by Service Experts. This last experience has me looking for another company."
